Kolaveri Di is just a leaked part of a bigger hit, yet to be heard
Nov 23rd
Dhanush is definitely a talented actor and we’ve seen now that when he starts singing you can’t stop people from going crazy about it. Recently, this actor turned singer got down to show us what it is to go viral on Youtube. Till date we hadn’t seen many Indian videos growing this popular in such a short span of time. And if you are still wondering what I’m talking about you must be living under a rock lying in a corner of a dark cave. On a serious note, u need to check this video out before you go outside telling you haven’t heard ‘Why This Kolaveri Di‘ (means ‘Why this killer rage?’ in English) yet.
It was confirmed by Dhanush that the clip is only a leaked version of the actual song yet to be released. It was released on youtube as a video shot in the studio where it was being recorded. Music composer Anirudh, Dhanush, Shruti Hassan, Aishwarya and Sound Engineer Sivakumar can be seen in the video. The actual song will embellish the upcoming Tamil film, (3). It recorded more than 1.6 million views on Youtube in under a week, which is huge.
Let us not ignore those seven hundred plus dislikes this video scored. This is the state of pretty much every video on Youtube. Even the best video ever HAS to get a handful percentage of dislikes. Maybe there is a secret society of haters sitting wired in, who hit dislike as soon as a video is released or there are dumb people who wish they could hear something everyone is dancing to or Grammarians. Or it might simply be that the music plays so much around a person that it has passed the limit to which he can tolerate even the sweetest thing on earth. We’ll never know.
Anyway, I love the song and I gave it a thumbs up on Youtube. I wish it goes crazy viral out of the country too and gets more hits than the damned Justin Bieber’s – Baby

The Evolution of the iPod Nano
Nov 22nd
Through all these years (since the last quarter of 2005) we’ve seen a number of revisions of the most popular mp3 player Apple still sells like hot cakes. The iPod Nano released its updated 6th generation a few days back and left us bewildered with the features it mashed up in the Nano-s all along. This infographic (an old one), devoid of the updated 6th generation, clears all doubts we’ve had regarding the iPod Nano-s. The latest Nano (2011) version comes with only a software update that can be done on the older 6th generation Nano and revised prices.
The latest OS (2011) for the Nano basically comes with 16 new clock faces, improving its appeal for the ubiquitous Nano wrist straps we find all around the internet these days. Check out an older post where I covered the wrist bands (The best way to cheat in exams)
Star Guitar by Chemical Brothers
Aug 11th
Star Guitar is a single from Chemical Brothers’ album ‘come with us‘. The music video is a brilliant video composition. It is a scene from a moving train’s window and the objects that pass by are synchronized with the beats and trills of the track. The video was actually shot (not CG) while Michel Gondry (the video director) was traveling across France. It took several trips to get the video’s light conditions right.
The track’s voice print was used for creating a model and after extensive editing he created this fantastic effect.

Discover Music – 22 handpicked tracks
May 22nd
I hate people coming to me and gasping about the fact that I didn’t listen to a particular “famous” artist’s track. I apparently bear weird musical taste. It isn’t even a bit surprising to see music from genres wide apart landing in my Loved tracks list (pop, metal, alternative, classics, house, psychedelic trance and what not). I tend to associate random memories with the music I listen. Yes, I maintain an year-wise loved tracks list which parallelly is like a diary for me. My archive folder:
I’ve talked about Last FM and Youtube Disco in my previous posts. 22tracks is something I recently came to know. “22tracks.com is a jukebox consisting of 22 playlists of different genres, each playlist filled with 22 tracks, selected by specialized DJs of Amsterdam . 22tracks provides a quick overview of the latest music, promotes new artists and lets you discover new genres.
