Here is how to set it up for the first time on Firefox.

Firefox (eg: search MP3s)

–Open bookmarks organizer and add a new bookmark. To keep your custom searches organized new bookmark folder and name it something like ‘custom search’. We have to just focus on the Name, Location and Keyword boxes here.

–enter the Name eg: ‘MP3 search’

–For location: Get the URL in the address bar after doing a dummy search. Then replace just the dummy text with %s in the URL. Copy this link.

–Now enter the Keyword. This is the word you’ll use in the address bar as a prefix to the search you are making. eg: mp3 (for this case)

To search mp3s, just type in ‘mp3 name of the song’ in the address bar.

For Chrome you can right-click the address bar, select edit custom search engines and follow the same steps.
