Resize images on the fly
Author: indigoanalysis | Filed under: For You, Softwares, Tips n TricksI have a 7 megapixel camera and trust me it gets irritating when you have owned it for a while. Reason- I always forget to set it on lesser megapixel mode before taking photos. The results are, huge pictures that are thrice my monitor size and four times the Facebook picture size. Each photo takes up nearly 3mb.
I took 60 photos last night and it cost me a little less than 200mb of the virtual real estate. I used Farstone bulk photo resizer to lower the picture sizes to to the good old 1024. The photos impressively got compressed to 18mb with no apparent loss in the quality. It is faster to upload them online and share with friends.
200mb-18mb no loss in quality
Farstone photo resizer is a very easy to use freeware utility.
Settings used: settings > quality 50, use JPEG quality from image file if possible (ticked), keep all the optins to default.
in the advanced settings > I used the resize tab to resize the image size to 1024X768 size. Choose whatever suits you.
