4/5 pants
is a simple 2D game with no extra graphic frills. Claims to have reached 20 million downloads. Even if you own an old rusty processor you can be pretty sure at least one good game – Icy Tower would run without a lag. The game hosts a funny character, the best thing I like about it is the “yo!” it yells at the start of the game.
It is a vertically scrolling type in which you have to keep jumping on the randomly positioned/scaled floors to save your self from the scrolling screen. The basic aim in the game is to get a hi-score either a combo hi-score or a total hi-score. Well, my highest score was around 4000 and the combo was some 50 odd floors. Another good feature is that you can record your replay and share with friends.
Some game freaks have reached floors like 428 in tournaments.
It scores a 4 pant rating. One less because it lacks some things games like soldat and Little Fighters have, also I cannot give it and equal rating to soldat and Little Fighters. Otherwise a perfect game for its genre. Very addictive. The games beauty is its minimalism. Most importantly it is a freeware.
Addictive game-play – you’ll come back for more! Custom characters – play as anyone! Custom game modes – experiment! Profiles – track your progress Replays – share your best moments! Awesome music and sound – keep humming! Gorgeous pixel graphics – enjoy! Unlocks – what will you find? Truckloads of combos – get more points! Ranks – how good can you get?

Awesome free Tiny 2D games
Aug 4th
Nothing passes time better than fast paced, fluid action games and a boon if they are free and small to download. Two of my all time favorite freeware games.
1. Little Fighters (LF2):

Little fighters is a side scrolling 2D fight game. LF2 isn’t just like any other street fighting game. Supports 4 players simultaneously on the same computer. The character are teen Japanese anime based, most of these characters possess special powers (simple key combinations). There are not many controls and are very easy to learn. The vs mode and a network multiplayer mode add to the game’s scope. The official website [LF2].
Fans love developing Mods for the game. Mods may range from small weapons and characters to complete game makeover. The game community fan website [LF2-Global] contains all the famous fan made mods. LF2-Global is also a good to find players around the world to play with you on the Internet.
Little Fighters gained a lot of attention after the year 2005. The official website made 3d action figures of the fighters available to order. There is also a not-so-professional, home made LF2 movie series called the LF2-alpha
to watch.
2. Soldat: ![]()

Soldat is a again a side scrolling fight game but with a difference. In Soldat you have guns, grenades and jet packs, the mouse is used to aim(click to shoot and right click for the jet pack) and keyboard to move. Multiplayer gameplay is lovely but single player isn’t bad at all. The Bot AI is good enough to keep you stuck to the computer for hours. Great music and sounds.
The game renders super fluid animations and detailed graphics. It has a huge fan community online. Map packs can be downloaded from the internet for free. Soldat is free to use but asks you to pay for some extra (not necessary) features. A perfect addictive game.
