The summer guide to passing time – 1
May 31st
The summer heat and the holidays make life boring. The WWW has some fun places buried deep that feature the popular culture and other interesting stuff. It makes passing time much easier. Here I’ve compiled a list of the world’s most engrossing places on the web that can help to while away time like there was none.
A huge live list of the best stories around the world. Gets the data from famous social bookmarking websites and the best blogs.
One place for popular links.
A home made version of popurls started by Jimmy Ruska.
The most popular social bookmarking website with loads of stuff to discover. Digg introducing some new social features, a sneak peek in the following video:
Funny starts here. These people know what’s funny and what’s not. The most experienced humor website on the planet. Must see the funny lists and videos.
No one other than the author of this website knows what the name means. But, its pretty funny to just read it. You’ll wonder where these people get som much LMAO stuff to post daily. Just click the randomizer button on the right pane and have fun.
Another Cracked.com styled website. It features loads of original funny videos. Famous for parodies of literally anything in this damned world. Updated daily.
Play higly addictive multiplayer games here. Even if your despise online flash gaming, its a must chek out (Apparently you are searching for something to pass your time with so no other go. Go to OMGPOP now). Must play Missile command now.
Addictive multiplayers, fast load times, slick OS kind of interface, real players, Facebook integration.
A place where you find the cream of flash games from around the world. You’ll end up spending hours on this website. Some of the games you must try for sure are indestruc2tank, continuity, tower defense games, robot wants puppy, red remover, stacker series, filler and many more. Sign up and level up.
Addictive flash multiplayers, best flash games around, leveling up system, neat design. Nothing more you could ask of a flash games website.
That was the first part. I don’t keep drafting stuff and adding more and more to it before publishing. One sitting should convert at least to one post for me. We’ll see another such list pretty soon before you are done with this one.

Lumosity is a website that features simple and addictive flash based games to help you keep your brain worked up. These games measure your Speed, memory, attention, flexibility and problem solving skills to calculate the final BPI* (body performance index). Awesome free Tiny 2D games
Aug 4th
Nothing passes time better than fast paced, fluid action games and a boon if they are free and small to download. Two of my all time favorite freeware games.
1. Little Fighters (LF2):

Little fighters is a side scrolling 2D fight game. LF2 isn’t just like any other street fighting game. Supports 4 players simultaneously on the same computer. The character are teen Japanese anime based, most of these characters possess special powers (simple key combinations). There are not many controls and are very easy to learn. The vs mode and a network multiplayer mode add to the game’s scope. The official website [LF2].
Fans love developing Mods for the game. Mods may range from small weapons and characters to complete game makeover. The game community fan website [LF2-Global] contains all the famous fan made mods. LF2-Global is also a good to find players around the world to play with you on the Internet.
Little Fighters gained a lot of attention after the year 2005. The official website made 3d action figures of the fighters available to order. There is also a not-so-professional, home made LF2 movie series called the LF2-alpha
to watch.
2. Soldat: ![]()

Soldat is a again a side scrolling fight game but with a difference. In Soldat you have guns, grenades and jet packs, the mouse is used to aim(click to shoot and right click for the jet pack) and keyboard to move. Multiplayer gameplay is lovely but single player isn’t bad at all. The Bot AI is good enough to keep you stuck to the computer for hours. Great music and sounds.
The game renders super fluid animations and detailed graphics. It has a huge fan community online. Map packs can be downloaded from the internet for free. Soldat is free to use but asks you to pay for some extra (not necessary) features. A perfect addictive game.

Oreilly’s Definitive Guide to Actionscript
May 7th
Macromedia Flash has an integrated platform which allows coding to create interactive clips. Flash became really famous when it was using Actionscript 2.0, now it is actionscript 3.0 since flashplayer 9. Use of Flash with action script can range from creating simple advertisements to complex Flash games. Action script is really easy to start with, I’ve recently started learning the action script. In a matter of two hrs. I could come up with a multiple choice type of quiz and a simple calculator.
I have started using a really easy book to begin with. You can buy it here- Oreilly’s definitive guide to action script. I found a free online version though here.
Once I started learning there was no stopping because I found the flash very addictive. But taking a break for a while because I have got busy with the blog set-up.
Happy Actionscripting
