Youtube is testing a new service. The Youtube Disco. It is a one stop for all your music needs. Where you can listen to all the full music for free with videos. What’s more? There is a tab on the second page that finds you similar artists to the one you entered on the first page. Similar artists are found using some algorithm that comes from user choices. It has some very good advantages over other such services like last.fm and Pandora. Pandora isn’t even available in India.

Youtube – discover music the Pandora way

Author: indigoanalysis | Filed under: Music, The WWW, What's new

As the name explains LastFM is an online radio website. The most important thing, usually missed to notice by people is its Audioscrobbler. Scrobbling is a term used for the process of recording details of all the songs the user listens to, either on the streamed radio stations, the user’s computer or many portable music devices. thus Audioscrobbler is the software which records the information by integrating with your desktop music player or your mp3 player. This helps you to find the songs you’ll love.

LastFM’s Audioscrobbler helps you find similar songs/artists based on listening habits of people like you. The website is slightly inclined to also serve as a social networking site. You can find friends around the world with similar music tastes.

The huge user fed data on this website consists of artists/bands/songs description and photos. These are provided right at your desktop when you play a song (which has a valid ID3 tag).
