WordPress Image upload problem

Today when I was writing the previous post. The screen shot of the free extended task manager didn’t upload. There was an error saying “The parent directory …/wp-content/uploads/2010/01 isn’t writable.”
I opened up the file manager and navigated to the uploads directory. I have had a similar problem before. So, I made a new directory and named it 2010. The default permissions were 755. I changed it to 777 and then tried to upload again. The upload was successful. Now, there won’t be any such problems till jan 1 2011. I’ll have to repeat the process again for the new year 2011.
My web host isn’t a popular one like the Hostgator or Godaddy, so I face some problems like these often. Probably it isn’t optimized for wordpress. Hope I find a way to fix this soon. Otherwise, I’ll have to shift to a better host from may.
Ipod Restore

The apple ipod sometimes acts strange. As it recently did to one of my friend. It stopped playing music, got reset everytime restarted etc etc…. The best solution to such problems is the total restore. But beware it will destroy all the data stored in the ipod. Before doing this I suggest backing up any files you hav in the ipod. I could successfully restore the player to a brand new state, so I’m sharing what I did.
step 1(optional): format the ipod to FAT32. I couldn’t successfully do it still ipod got restored at last, so……optional
step2: Connect the pod to the computer, now select restore from the itunes>>ipod. (restore button is where iTunes shows your ipod’s pic or the page where the sync button is sitiuated. )
step3: Ater a couple of clicks itunes starts downloading some ipod update. Let it complete and install automatically.
You are done, after about 10secs you will see your ipod perfectly ok ready to get filled.
