Tag someone with a different name on Facebook
Nov 18th
A little trick with the Open Graph ID on Facebook lets you tag anyone with a different name/word. To do this you’ll have to figure out the Open Graph ID of the person you want to be tagged. Most of the pages who do not have a custom username have their IDs in the URL of that page. See the address bar when you have the page opened.
1. Find the Number. If it isn’t there, skip to Step 2
![]()
2. If you don’t find the number there just add the “Graph.” before the URL and press enter. If done on a correct page you’ll get a page which will have the ID of that person.
![]()
3. Use this code to tag:
@@[0:[186995576381:0: Your Text Goes Here]]
Replace the number with the person/page you want to be tagged with the word. The text to be displayed can be changed to anything.
TIP: For a Blank Status use:
@[0: ]

Nov 14th
How to enable FB Timeline for your profile (if you haven’t done it yet!) in just 8 simple steps.
1. Search for the “developer” app in the search bar above. Make sure before doing this you have a phone number confirmed. You can check this by going to Account settings>Mobile.
2. Allow the app to access basic information from your account.
3. Click on the “Create new app” button. Top right.
4. Use a unique app name and app namespace. Tick I agree.Click continue and type in the captcha.
5. Click on “Open graph” in the left side bar.
6. Fill in the blanks in the following page and click “get started” button.
7. Click on the “save changes” button at the bottom of the next pages. No need to edit any content. Click on “finish” at last.
8. Now go to your profile and see a new box that says “enable timeline” Enjoy

Unhide application feeds – Facebook
Mar 3rd
I used to hate those millions of Farmville and Mafia war’s feed on my Facebook feed. I blocked them, they got added to the blocked app list. But trust me when you actually start playing these you have hard time surviving without those feeds. Now when I want to enable them i find no option to do it. Facebook changed its interface recently just after the “birthday”. Everytime Facebook changes its look, its like “you better devote some time to find all those misplaced areas”. I did that. I found where the applications can be added to the feed again.
The trick is to move to “Top news” first. The most used “most recent” page doesn’t let you do it.
- Go to Top News link on the top of your feeds.
- Now navigate to the end of the page and find “Edit Options”
- Go to the “applications” tab in the floating box.
- Click on the “add to news feed” button. You are done.
The catch here is that you’d kill yourself from frustration after not finding any such options under the “Most Recent” page. True that you never go to the “Top News” page. But for this you’ll have to go. There is no other way on the present Facebook interface to unhide applications from your news feed.
P.S. You also find blocked pages there.
Find out how long your computer has been ON – Windows
Jan 11th
Windows XP:
1. Press ctrl+r to bring the run dialogue box.
2. Now type in cmd to open command prompt.
3. Without worrying about where the cursor is, just type in systeminfo.
4. Scroll the generated information to find a row containing the system uptime.
Windows vista and 7
For windows vista and seven you can simply check the uptime in the task manager.
1. Press ctrl+shift+esc to open up the task manager directly in vista and seven. (no intermediate screen). If your task manager has been disabled due to a bug attack you can use this to enable it once again.
2. Now go to the performance tab.
3. You can find the system uptime below the real time graphs.
In vista and Windows 7 the XP method works but it won’t tell you the uptime directly. That method tells you when you last switched ON your computer (the date and time). The math is left for you to be done.
Enable Aero on Windows 7 home basic version
Jan 7th
Windows 7 looks dull without aero effects enabled. Windows 7 home basic version has no aero effects enabled from factory. AeroEnabler is a nice small tool that enables aero effects on your home basic version. Aero effects demand some minimum display driver specifications for smooth operation. AeroEnabler can enable those effects even if the requirements are not met. It is not suggested that you enable the aero effects if you do not meet the minimum requirements.
Minimum requirements:
DirectX 9.0 acceleration
Pixel shader version 2.0 with 32 bit pixel per pixel support
128 mb graphics memory
