Thoora is one of its kind service. It provides real time information on the reaction of social and traditional media on a particular story. It uses input like twitter, blogs and many other such services to cluster the information.

Thoora’s approach on displaying the most popular stories on the internet is based on what blog posts, comments, twitter updates and news articles have to say. It is an unbiased way of approach. Ranking of the stories is done according to the extent of reaction generated on a particular story. RSS feeds is the main source of the data Thoora uses to rank stories.

Also there is a search option. This helps you find anything you are searching for. Another use of  Thoora could be to derive ideas on topics to blog about.

To use Facebook lite, go to http://lite.facebook.com (It is a faster, less eye candy version of the Facebook). Lite helps you if you have a low bandwidth connection. It is much less bogged up with applications. But if  it seems that you are disconnected to the applications. Which might be the main reason for you to be on Facebook. It is time to switch between them fast. Go to the settings on the top (gear icon beside the logout button). Now, click on the “default site” button and tick “Let me switch between regular Facebook and Facebook Lite“. Click on save.

Now you’ll have a blue bar on top of the Facebook page that helps you to switch between Lite and Normal versions of the website on the fly.

Summary:

Make it lite : http://lite.facebook.com

1. Click Settings (gear icons on the top, beside logout button)

2. Click Default site

3. Place a tick onLet me switch between regular Facebook and Facebook Lite”

4. Save

Fast Switch between FB and FB lite

Author: indigoanalysis | Filed under: For You, Soial Media, The WWW, Tips n Tricks

Facebook started its new simplified version’s beta test today, I got a message on the top of the profile page saying:

“You have been selected as a beta tester for Facebook Lite! We are building a faster, simpler version of Facebook that we call Facebook Lite. It’s not finished yet and we have plenty of kinks to work out, but we would love to get your feedback on what we have built so far”

The start page consists only of the news stories (no application things wow!!). The right nav bar has been cut real intelligently. App requests, highlights and connect with friend’s columns are gone. People you may know and sponsors (obviously) remain. Top nav bar has the Home and name buttons missing. The page has no unnecessary frills, probably to try catch up with the growing twitter trends. No curvy corners for the lite version, the page loads and renders really fast. Unlike twitter the main page after login doesn’t allow you to write updates, you have to got to the profile page to write. (They must seriously add this missing feature). The main page screenshot with some privacy edits looks like this:
